Western Visayas is the region covering Panay Island, Guimaras and the western half of Negros, with Iloilo City as its regional centre. It takes in the provinces of Iloilo, Antique, Capiz, Aklan, Guimaras and Negros Occidental — a spread that runs from Boracay in the north to the sugar country of Negros in the south-east.
