Leganes is a small municipality about eleven kilometres from Iloilo City, north-east along the coast. It is still largely made up of houses, farms and light agricultural land rather than dense subdivision, and had a population of roughly 34,700 at the 2020 census. Its appeal is straightforward: it is close enough to the city to commute from, without being part of it.
