Real estate in Jaro, Iloilo City

Jaro sits north of the Iloilo River and is the district people picture when they picture old Iloilo. The plaza — Graciano Lopez Jaena Park — is ringed by the Jaro Metropolitan Cathedral, the Archbishop's Palace, and the Campanario de Jaro, a belfry built in 1744 that stands apart from its own church and was declared a National Historical Landmark in 1984. The cathedral is the National Shrine of Our Lady of the Candles and the seat of the Archdiocese of Jaro. Ancestral houses along the surrounding streets are still lived in rather than merely photographed, and Central Philippine University keeps a year-round student population in the district.
